Homage Watches from Microbrands & Independent Brands
Showing 1–24 of 30 brands · Page 1 of 2
While “Homage” might be the most argument-generating word in all of watch collecting, we like to use it... descriptively (not as, say, a moral verdict). This page groups homage brands whose catalogs reference familiar, historical, or current watch designs. That spectrum runs from close visual reproductions to much looser reinterpretations, with makers including San Martin, Baltany, Steinhart, MkII, WMT, Ginault, Islander, and others.

Not every homage is the same kind of homage
Some watches reproduce a famous design almost line for line. Others revive dimensions, dial layouts or military references that have been out of production for decades. Still others start with a recognizable archetype and change enough that the influence matters more than the resemblance. Atlas keeps them discoverable together while leaving room for collectors to draw their own line.
Why homage watches remain popular
Price is part of it, but not all of it. Homages can make discontinued proportions available again, revive tool-watch formats the original manufacturer abandoned, or let a collector try a design language before spending far more on the famous version. They can also be controversial. The tag is a way to see the category clearly rather than pretending it doesn't exist.
