Brand vibe
Vulcain is the alarm watch brand. Apparently, the 1947 Cricket calibre made it the one mechanical wristwatch loud enough to wake a sleeping president, and this house has been living off (and honoring) that single piece of engineering ever since. Founded in 1858 in Le Locle by Maurice Ditisheim, today's Vulcain is a small operation splitting its attention between faithful Cricket re-editions and a fun mid-century revival line of Skindiver divers and 70s chronographs. Also it makes me think of the Marvel superhero Vulcan. Which is cool if you're me.
