Ontic was started in 2024 by John Hickling, a former UK Mountain Rescue volunteer, around a single idea: a watch you never have to think about. The Utility 40 is built on TiX-hardened titanium, a Ronda 215 Solartech Swiss solar-quartz movement, 300m of water resistance and a ceramic dive bezel. Community verifiedSourcing Notes: Components sourced internationally; designed, assembled and pressure-tested in the United Kingdom. Movements are Ronda 215 Solartech Swiss solar-quartz from Ronda AG. Flat sapphire crystal with triple-layer underside AR coating, brushed ceramic 120-click unidirectional bezel insert, FKM rubber strap or TiX titanium bracelet. Case, dial and hands subcontractors are not disclosed.
