Sourcing & Build
InferredSourcing Notes: Kurono Tokyo is a sub-brand of Hajime Asaoka, a renowned independent watchmaker. The watches are designed by Asaoka himself and produced in Japan, utilizing both Japanese and Swiss components to achieve high levels of finishing and accuracy at a more accessible price point than his bespoke creations. Movements are typically Japanese-made Miyota, which are then custom-finished. Kurono is known for Japanese design and supply chain, but does not disclose every component supplier publicly.

Previous 15% reciprocal deal now in limbo post-SCOTUS. Currently flat 10% Section 122. Japanese movements (Miyota, Seiko) are components, not finished watches — tariff applies to where the watch is assembled, not where the movement is from.
Tariffs are assessed based on where the watch is assembled, not where individual components originate. A watch with a Japanese movement assembled in the US incurs no import duty.
