Sourcing & Build
InferredSourcing Notes: Kurono Tokyo is a sub-brand of Hajime Asaoka, a renowned independent watchmaker. The watches are designed by Asaoka himself and produced in Japan, utilizing both Japanese and Swiss components to achieve high levels of finishing and accuracy at a more accessible price point than his bespoke creations. Movements are typically Japanese-made Miyota, which are then custom-finished. Kurono is known for Japanese design and supply chain, but does not disclose every component supplier publicly.

Japan is capped at 12.5% total including MFN duty under the Section 301 forced-labor tariffs (effective July 24, 2026). Japanese movements (Miyota, Seiko) are components — the tariff applies to where the finished watch is assembled, not where the movement is made.
Tariffs are assessed based on where the watch is assembled, not where individual components originate. A watch with a Japanese movement assembled in the US incurs no import duty.
