    Brand vibe

Benarus is a two-person, self-financed dive-watch operation that's been running since 2008. It's one of the oldest continuously-independent microbrand divers on the market. It was founded in Germany by Steve Laughlin (BFA, Kansas State; former SCUBA diver based in Overland Park, KS) and Ralf Schreiner (German co-founder handling production and parts sourcing out of Hong Kong). Today the brand is operationally headquartered in Hong Kong, ships from there, and is run day-to-day by the same two people who started the whole damn thing, with Laughlin handling design, marketing, photography, sales and customer service, and Schreiner running the supply chain.

Not enough information for a duty figure

The fields above are reported facts. None of them establishes customs origin: that depends on the watch's tariff classification and a substantial-transformation analysis, and what you actually pay also depends on the seller's shipping and duty-payment terms. Ask the seller for the country of origin and whether duties are collected at checkout, and confirm rates against official sources.
