    Brand vibe

Aenigma comes out of Aosta, in the Italian Alps, where the jewelry company behind it (XAE S.r.l.) decided a retail counter was not enough. The output splits three ways: Codex, a 41mm Seiko NH35 sports diver at 200m that keeps the price honest; SubX, a 42mm 300m diver on a Swiss Sellita SW200 with a relief-worked screw-down caseback; and DressX, a 39mm, 9.5mm-thin dress piece running a hand-wound Landeron L210 with a cryptographic date disc that reveals a quote one day at a time. I'd call it an an Alpine brand with a jeweler's finishing instincts.
